When to Specify Rolling Security
Rolling shutters, grilles, and overhead doors solve different problems than locks, alarms, or fixed bars. They are the right specification when the threat profile, building code, or operational requirement calls for a physical barrier that retracts out of sight when not needed.

BC Code & Compliance
Fire-rated rolling shutters must carry an active UL or ULC label corresponding to the rated assembly they protect, typically 1, 1.5, or 3 hours. Substitution of a non-labelled assembly into a fire-rated opening is a code violation and a frequent source of failed inspections on tenant improvements and new builds.
We supply CornellCookson fire shutters with the UL/ULC label registered to your specific opening dimensions and rating. NFPA 80 annual drop-test inspection is a recurring obligation we can include in a maintenance plan.
